EARLY MODERN SPAIN
( This is the world in the XVI century)The Early Modern Spain Age began with the Discovery of America in 1492, and ended with the French Revolution in 1789.
Points to remember:
- agriculture was the main economic activity
- trade was growing
- people began travelling to other countries around the world
- people used coins to buy more than before
- Society was divided into three groups:
- Nobles (King, Queen, Lord, Knight,...) and clergy (religiuos people) had special privileges.
- And, Commoners: they lived in cities (merchants, doctors, lawyers, artisants or shopkeepers) and country (farmers). They didn´t have special privileges and some of then were usually very poor.
